Sheep & Summits
Ovis canadensis · alpine ram hunt
The Sheep & Summits done right.
This is a 6-night, fully-guided Sheep & Summits hunt run on the best private and wilderness ground in the Crazy Mountains.
Days start in the dark and end at wall-tent spike camp, glassing the cliff faces from a spike camp with your guide. Expect to earn it. The reward is a fair-chase ram in country that still feels wild, with rams cracking horns on the crags to mark the morning.
Ovis canadensis

For most bighorn sheep hunts here you'll need a Montana nonresident license and the right ram tag (Draw or Leftover for this unit, HD 580). We walk you through the entire draw and application process and tell you exactly what to apply for and when, so you're never guessing and never out of compliance in the field.
This is a backcountry hunt at altitude — expect several miles a day on steep, uneven ground between 3,500 and 9,900 feet. You don't need to be an athlete, but you should be comfortable hiking with a daypack. Tell us honestly where you're at and we'll set a pace that fits.
Across the last three seasons our hunters have had a shot opportunity on a mature ram 92% of the time. We won't promise a kill — no honest outfitter will — but we will promise hard, fair effort on the best ground we have in the Crazy Mountains.
Yes. We welcome non-hunting companions in camp at a reduced rate, including meals and lodging. Just let us know when you book so we can plan stock, bunks and meals accordingly.
Plans change and weather turns. Reach us with reasonable notice and we'll work with you to reschedule or refund. We'll always tell you straight what your options are before anything is locked in.
