This is our flagship — a seven-day, fully-guided backcountry elk hunt at the peak of the September rut, run on 184,000 acres of private Bitterroot wilderness. You'll ride into high pack camp, glass the dark timber at first light, and work bugling bulls on foot the way four generations of our family have done it. One hunter to one guide. No shortcuts, no guarantees but the honest kind — just the best fair-chase elk hunting in the Northern Rockies.

For most of our elk hunts you'll need a Montana nonresident combination license and elk tag. We guide you through the entire draw and application process and tell you exactly what to apply for and when — so you're never guessing, and never in the field out of compliance.
This is a backcountry hunt at altitude — expect to cover several miles a day on steep, uneven ground. You don't need to be an athlete, but you should be comfortable hiking with a daypack. Tell us honestly where you're at and we'll set a pace that fits.
Across the last three seasons our hunters have had a shot opportunity on a mature bull 98% of the time. We won't promise a kill — no honest outfitter can — but we will promise hard, fair effort on the best private ground in the valley.
Yes. We welcome non-hunting companions in camp at a reduced rate, including meals and lodging. Just let us know when you book so we can plan stock and bunks accordingly.
