The Canvas Camp

A canvas camp worth the drive.

Built from safari-style canvas and timber, Aspen Canvas Camp sits in the Pintler Country with big Montana sky in every window. A canvas camp that trades crowds for quiet — count more stars than you have in years.

Sleeping 5 across 2 bedrooms, it centers on platform deck over the creek and opens onto a firepit under open sky. It is a true escape — dawn coffee on the porch, days in the wild, nights around the fire.

Exactly the kind of quiet we needed. We barely left the porch — big Montana sky in every window, coffee in hand, nowhere to be. Aspen Canvas Camp is the real thing.

Photos do not do the canvas camp justice. The fire after a cold day on the trail is something I will think about all winter.

Easy to find, easy to settle into, hard to leave. The host had it dialed — firewood stocked, fridge cold, directions perfect.

Good to Know

Before you book.

Check-in is from 4:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM, both self-service with a smart-lock code we send the morning you arrive. Our caretaker lives nearby and is always a call away if you need a thing.

Yes — two well-behaved dogs are welcome with a small cleaning fee. There is room to roam right out the door, so just let us know at booking and we will have them in mind.

A 2-night minimum most of the year, rising over peak summer and holiday weekends. Reach out for shorter mid-week gaps between bookings — we can sometimes fit a single night in.

You are 16 minutes from Philipsburg for groceries, fuel, and a hot meal, and about 53 min from Missoula (MSO). Quiet and private, but never stranded.

You are not charged when you request to book — we confirm dates first, then collect 50% to hold the canvas camp, with the balance due 30 days out. Cancel at least 7 days before check-in for a full refund, less the booking fee.
